Wheat Rava Pongal:
Special breakfast Pongal made out of raw rice and Moong dal is regular breakfast menu served everywhere in South side.This Rava Pongal replaces rice to broken wheat/samba Rava,taste is really palatable with coconut chutney or sambar.The aroma of this dish,Ghee fried Rava and Moong dal cooked along with ginger and pepper corns gives you nice aroma while preparing,will make you to feel its heavenly taste. Doctors say that wheat is good when compared to Rice, alternatively wheat has the same quality.
Samba Wheat Rava-1 cup
Split moong dal-1/2 cup
Pepper corns-7 nos
Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
Freshly ground pepper-1/4 tsp
Curry leaves-2 twigs
Green chilli-2 nos
Fry Wheat rava and Split moong dal separately to golden yellow in little ghee.
Add 3 cups of water grated Ginger, pepper corns and cumin seeds along with 1/2 tsp of Salt,pressure cook for 2 whistle.
Heat pan, add rest of the Ghee and Oil ,add cumin seeds and Cashews fry golden brown,add Curry leaves and split green chilli.
Add cooked wheat rava and dal to this,stir well and allow it i n low flame for 3 minutes.
Sprinkle some crushed pepper and serve with Coconut chutney or Sambar.
