Karunai kizhangu masiyal: Yam Masiyal
Karunai Kizhangu Masiyal is another chettinad captivating recipe, Which is healthy and delicious.This is regularly used in most of the houses for its significant and amazing health benefits without any side effects,its good for curing loss of appetite, bleeding piles and piles related problem, it helps to reduce constipation.
Added advantage is, this yam can be stored for a long time (10 to 20 days)without any spoilage. Awesome taste of this Masiyal, tasty, tangy and spicy with plain rice or rasam combination, try it and enjoy your meal.
Ingredients:
Karunai kizhangu-1/4 kg
Onion-1 chopped
Garlic 2 pods crushed
Tomato -1 small chopped
Green chilli-2 slit
Salt-1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
Chilli Powder-1 tsp
Tamarind extract-1 gooseberry sized or 1 1/2 tbsp
To Temper:
Oil- 1tbsp
Fennel seeds-1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds-1/4 tsp
Curry leaves-1 twig
Method to proceed:
1.Boil Karunai Kizhangu peel its skin mash it,add Chilli powder,Salt,Turmeric powder and Tamarind juice mix well altogether keep it ready to prepare Tasty Masiyal.
2.Heat heavy bottom pan with one tablespoon of oil season it with above mentioned “To Temper”Ingredients.
3.Add Chopped Onion and saute for a while,add green chilli,Tomato and curry leaves stir it for 2 minutes.
4.Add Mashed Karunai Kizhangu mixed with all other Ingredients in to it.
5.Cook for 10 to 15 minutes in low flame, add crushed Garlic.
6.It will leave its sides when its done.
Serve with Plain cooked rice,or match it with rasam ,curd rice.
