Manathakkali keerai Thovattal:

Manathakkali is an important ingredient in traditional Indian medicines. Infusions are used for treatment of dysentery, stomach complaints and fever. The juice of the leaves is used on ulcers and other skin diseases. The fruits are used as a tonic, laxative, appetite stimulant, and for treating asthma and excessive thirst. Traditionally the plant was used to treat tuberculosis in some places. It is a home remedy for mouth ulcers, and is used in cooking, like spinach.
Ingredients:
Manathakkali keerai -1( bunch cleaned and washed)
Moong dal-1/2 cup boiled
Onion-chopped-1
Green chilli-2 nos
Salt-1 tsp
Coconut grated- 2 tsp
For seasoning:
Oil-2 tsp
Mustard-1 tsp
Urad dal1/2 tsp
Method to prepare:
Boil Moong dal 3/4 th boiled it should not be more cooked.
Heat oil in a pan season with the above ingredients.
Add chopped onion and green chilli saute well.
Add chopped greens saute for a while sprinkle some water, add dal boiled drained water close and cook until it cooks soft.
Add boiled dal and salt mix well by adding grated coconut.
