Aval / Flattened rice Kesari:

Aval kesari delicious and  mouth watering, Kesari is one of the famous sweet liked by all at any time. Very easy and quick recipe to prepare in few minutes. We have a different type of Kesari, made out of semolina, wheat rava, semiya with wonderful flavours of pineapple, banana, nuts and aromatic essence or cardamom. This Aval kesari is also too yummy to enjoy.

Ingredients: This serves-3 person

Aval-1 cup

Sugar-3/4 cup

Ghee-2 tbsp

Cashew broken-1 tbsp

Dry grapes 1/2 tbsp

Cardamom-1/4 tsp

Method to prepare:

  1. Dry roast Aval for 3 to 5 minutes allow it to room temperature and dry grind in a mixer to a coarse powder.

12083875_962908140417463_2009477711_nIn a wide pan add 1 tbsp of ghee fry cashews and grapes, when it turns golden yellow add ground aval powder to it fry for more 2 minutes in medium flame.

 

On the other side boil 2 cups of water, add food colour as you prefer to the boiling water.

Now add boiled water to the roasted aval and stir it continuously to avoid lumps.

 

When it gets cooked add the sugar and stir it well, gradually it will leave its sides of the pan.

Finally add cardamom powder and rest of the ghee. Delicious aval kesari is ready to serve in minutes.
