Nendran Banana pepper fry

We can get many varieties of raw Bananas in the market that can be used for this preparation however, we have taken the Nendran variety for this recipe which gives a lot of health benefits and an appearance of fish fry to match with Rasam Sambar and plain cooked rice.

Nendran banana is a variety largely used by Keralites on regular basis. It lowers cholesterol in the body. Nendran is good for reducing blood pressure. Nendran Banana boost the immune system. It is also an energy booster, protecting heart health. Potassium and magnesium in this banana support bone strength and the nervous system, less fat content and regulate blood pressure.

Ingredients to prepare:

Raw banana-3 nos (serves 4 people)

Red chilli powder-1 heap tsp

Turmeric powder1/4 tsp

Black pepper and cumin-1 tsp

Ginger garlic paste-1 tsp

Salt -1/2 tsp

oil to shallow fry (4-6 tbsp)

Method:

Peel the skin of the banana, slightly crosscut into 1/2 inch thickness drop in to the water to avoid discolouration.

Take a wide bowl, drain the water completely and collect the banana slices in the mixing bowl.

Sprinkle Fresh ground pepper, turmeric powder, salt, chilli powder and ginger garlic paste.

Mix well, Heat the pan with oil and place these slices to cook on medium flame.

Flip and cook both sides for 3 to 5 minutes to get golden yellow. Cover with a lid to cook more fast and soft.

Serve with desired sauces or accompany with the main meal
